Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles (TMNT) is a franchise created in 1984 by Kevin Eastman and Peter Laird. It features four mutant turtles named Leonardo, Michelangelo, Donatello and Raphael, trained by their master Splinter in the art of ninjutsu. Together, they fight crime in New York City, notably facing their archenemy, Shredder, and his Foot clan. Initially an independent comic book, TMNT has become a global phenomenon thanks to animated series, films, video games and a wide range of toys.
